Skyward Vision

Maya Chen-Roberts, Florian Müller, Magnus Eriksson

Looking at this helmet, set against an endless sky, you’re seeing my vision for the future of personal protective gear. When I began designing it, I aimed for something that transcended mere safety; I wanted to enhance the human experience of motion and perception.

The smooth, aerodynamic white shell was meticulously crafted not only for its clean, almost cloud-like aesthetic but also for optimal performance, allowing it to glide through the air. The expansive dark visor is crucial. Notice how it mirrors the sky and clouds? To me, this reflection symbolizes a wide, unobstructed, and deeply connected view of the world – perhaps even a digitally augmented perspective offering enhanced awareness. It’s about fostering a feeling of freedom, not confinement.

Ultimately, my aspiration was to create a design that feels both undeniably futuristic and profoundly reassuring. It’s engineered to empower the wearer, giving them the confidence to journey towards their own horizons. While it is a highly functional piece of equipment, I also hope it evokes a sense of looking skyward, of moving forward with clarity, vision, and unwavering protection.
